01. Setting realistic learning goals π
This is always the hardest part about new years resolutions or honestly goal making in general. I've found that the key to really setting good goals for the new year is to be realistic and practical and cut yourself some slack!
Here are some questions to inspire you in your list:
Where do you see yourself in a year from now?
What kind of person would people describe you as right now, how do you want that to change in a years time?
What are some daily steps you can take to be more like that person?
What resources will help you achieve this goal?
Whether or not your goal has anything to do with learning Korean or Japanese or if it does, make sure to ask yourself these questions. Rather than being hard on yourself and blaming yourself and as a result ending up creating this HUGE and unrealistic goals for yourself, start small! Small steps are always what makes the bigger difference at the end of the day... why? Because they will last!
Here is an example of a goal that might pertain to some of you! π
I see myself being able to understand Korean dramas (not medical or technical ones) by this time next year. π
At this moment, someone would describe me as having a good heart and being kind but a year from now, I want to be described as a hard worker πββοΈ
In order to be a hard worker, I want to spend atleast one hour per day studying Korean and do this consistently unless I am sick or tired π
I can use resources such as dramas, korean learning flashcards and most importantly, I can use TEUIDA β€οΈ
How's that?! Easy right!!!?
02. WRITE. THEM. DOWN
This is genuinely a step that I can't RECOMMEND ENOUGH Y'aLL. Write down your goals to make them happen!!! I swear by journaling which is why I journal almost everyday but it is EVEN MORE important when it comes to setting goals or making resolutions.
I would suggest getting out a journal and writing down all the thoughts you have about this year, write down the good and the bad and try to figure out some actionable steps in order for you to avoid some of the bad and make more of the good happen! Just categorizing feelings you've had over the year and events that happened can really help move past them while also allowing you the space to grow! β€οΈ
Try this:
Write down five things you're proud of yourself for doing this year
Write down five things you didn't get to do this year but wanted to
Out of those, pick 2-3 to really focus on and do this year :)
03. Don't be hard on yourself! & be happy!
This is the most important! β€οΈ
Don't try to make goals out of self-hatred or from a bad place, always make goals with a positive mindset! That way you can make sure that you're doing these things for your betterment π Lastly, and MOST importantly, have fun with what youβre doing! This is one of the reasons why Teuida makes our content fun while also being educational but people learn better when they are entertained! Make sure youβre having fun and not just trying to be a memorizing robot lol you got this!!!!
I'm rooting for you! YES YOU! Go have fun~
Hope that helped! Have a great week everyone :)
