What does wind have to do with being stood up... ?! π
are you there?!?!?
Hello Everyone~! β€οΈ
Hope you're all having an AMAZING day so far!!!!!! & using Teuida to practice Korean and Japanese~ The weather is finally getting so much warmer here in Korea and idk about you guys but it makes my mood SO much better! In honor of this amazing weather we're going to be doing a weather themed newsletter this week!
I figured it wasn't as common to learn about and would be really helpful for all of you~ As always, please leave me comments below and let me know what you'd like to read about next week!!! I love hearing from you guys π

01. Let's start by learning the seasons!
λ΄ (beom) - spring
μ¬λ¦ (yeo-reum) - summer
κ°μ (ga-eul) - fall
κ²¨μΈ (gyeo-ool) - winter
I have the PERFECT song for you to listen to to memorize the seasons :D I swear it will help them roll right off your tongue~! Okay, now that we have those down, let's learn some weather related phrases that you guys can use for the various seasons hehe βοΈ
STOP!!!!!!! if you've read to this point leave me a comment telling me your favorite fruit π even better if you can say it in Korean !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(yes this is a test to see if you guys actually read what I'm writing
In a hypothetical scenario, someone might ask you: μ€λ λ μ¨κ° μ΄λμ? (oh-neul nal-ssi-ga eo-dae-yo?) and you could respond with:
μ€λ λ무 μΆμμ!!!!
If you wanted to switch it around and say it was hot, just switch every μΆμ to λμ which means hot! -- NOT to be confused with λ¨κ±°μ which means hot to the touch (like if you touched a hot pan) which cannot be used to describe the weather!
βοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈ
ps ignore the romanization for the hot (it is wrong it should be (deo-wo-yo)
03. Weather Idiom!!!!
Now that we have some of the basics about weather down (we will learn more next week~! if you guys enjoyed this) Let's learn a weather related Korean-idiom!!!! π
λ°λμ λ§λ€
So, the korean word for wind is λ°λ (ba-ram) π¬οΈ
and λ§λ€ (mat-da) means to be hit by something
This phrase literally means to be hit by the wind but the idiom means "to be stood up by someone" Say that you're supposed to be on a hinge date but you get stood up, you could say "λ λ°λ λ§μμ΄..." which means "I got stood up..."
HOPE THAT WAS HELPFUL but I hope no one will ever have to use this phrase π€£
Word of the Week β€οΈ
We're bringing it back!!! I'm going to give you a word every week and you guys have to try to make a sentence with that word!!! π₯ If you don't want yours to be shared let me know:)
Word of the week: any of the seasons!
Leave your sentences below!!!! (The feedback form)
