It was PEPPERO DAY!!! 11/11 :)
If you guys don't know, 11/11 in Korea is actually a day called Peppero Day. To be fully honest, the people who actually celebrate this are usually couples (us singles r sad π) BUT I have been asked before where this day comes from so I figured it would be good to talk about on the newsletter!
Peppero Day is a day that was originally started by Kids in a high school in the 90s! They gifted their classmates Peppero and because Lotte (the company that makes Peppero) noticed that their sales increased that day -- they turned it into an official day!
Now, people buy each other Peppero on this day every year! Sometimes they even make some themselves~
So yes, unfortunately, Peppero day is kind of a marketing scheme but I am fine with that!
