Hope you're all having a great weeekkk~! First of all, do you guys like the new design?! TEUIDA's one and only Chloe was nice enough to make this cute template for us and PERSONALLY I LOVE IT! Everyone say thank you Chloe hehe~ Anyways, Since we've been doing a lot of learning and Korean, I thought it was time for some K-pop content again!

A few of you have sent me songs that you want me to translate so I'm going to do that this week :) As always I will be picking some lyrics that I think might be helpful to learn in terms of everyday use so even if you're not the biggest fan of K-pop I swear, it will be helpful !!!

01. ITZY- Bet on Me 🔥

[Pre Chorus]

그래 넘어지겠지만 뭐 어때 (geu-rae nom-eo-ji-get-ji-man moh eo-dae)
또 일어나지 it's okay
두려움 다 지워 눈 앞에
다가올 내일만 생각해

So we're going to be focusing on this part of the lyrics, the pre chorus! One of you who requested this song said that you really like the meaning of the song overall, and I totally agree! I love that it gives a positive feeling/vibe after listening to it and you'll understand when you find the translation 😎

Let's break it down: 그래 넘어지겠지만 뭐 어때

그래 - okay, yes
넘어지 (넘어져) - to fall down
~겠지만 - but
뭐 어때 - so what

So this sentence means: Yes, we're probably going to fall. But, so what? ❤️

The phrase "뭐 어때" is very common and can be used in daily conversation! Next time your friend says something like... "Oh don't you think that skirt is too short?" Try replying with this hehe 😃

This song is so good! I know we got a lot of Stray Kids fans here so I'm so happy to do another translation of them ❤️ from what I've seen their lyrics are pretty deep! Although a lot of this song is in English, I thought this particular line was so touching 🤧

Let's break it down: 난 너의 그림자처럼 붙어 있어도 so far, far, far

난 - I
너의 그림자 - your shadow
처럼 - like
붙어 있어도 - stuck to

So this sentence means: Even if I'm stuck to you like your own shadow, its so far (away). 😢

Isn't that so cute guys!!?? I thought this lyric was super romantic and I hope that you're able to understand the song a little bit more now that you know what each part of the sentence means ❤️

03. Blackpink - Stay 💘

[Pre-Chorus]
널 닮은 듯한 슬픈 멜로디 (Ah-ah-ah-ah)
이렇게 날 울리는데, eh-eh
네 향기는 달콤한 felony (Ah-ah-ah-ah)
너무 밉지만 사랑해 (neo-mu mib-ji-man sa-rang-hae)

Of course we can't miss out on a Blackpink moment~! This is TO THIS DAY one of my favorite Blackpink songs and I still listen to this so much~ I chose this particular lyric because it contains very regular terms that you might use everyday! 😄

Let's break it down: 너무 밉지만 사랑해 ❤️

너무 - very/ so much/ really
밉지만 - hate you (but)
사랑해 - love you

So this sentence means: I hate you really but I love you or even though I hate you, I love you

Both phrases are super normal but putting them together and adding the but is very powerful! I really like this lyric & I think the pre-chorus for this song is so good~! Next time someone is annoying you but you love them, you can say this sentence!! hehe 😘
