Hope you're all doing great~ I have been SO swamped with work these days (doesn't it feel like february is so LONG) BUT I'm so glad that I get to hop on here again this week to teach you all some Korean!!!! <3
This week, we're going to be doing some sentence reviews! Remember all of those WOTW that y'all have been submitting? Let's go over some and correct + learn some Korean together~
Ugh I LOVE hearing you guys use the words we learn in the newsletter, let's take a look at this sentence and see if there is anything we need to fix :)
You did such a great job!!!! All of the spaces are in the right places and you have a great sentence structure~ Very advanced~~ BUT there are two things that should be corrected in this sentence. Firstly, a wedding in Korean is a κ²°νΌμ and marriage in Korean is κ²°νΌ SO, if we're talking about the event of a wedding you would have to use κ²°νΌμ instead of just κ²°νΌ. Secondly, when you use the phrase κ°λ³Έμ μμ΄μ you need to add μ΄! Sometimes people will just brush over it and say κ°λ³Έμ μμ΄μ when they're speaking fast but don't forget to add the particle for it to be grammatically correct.
Corrected: μ°λ¦¬ μλ§νν μ λ¬Όμ λ°μμ΄μ (I got a present from my mom)
Again, ALL the spacing is correct!!!!!!! I'm so proud of you! There are just two SMALL corrections that I would make to this sentence to make it better~ So firstly, whille μ΄λ¨Έλ is the proper way to call your mom, when referring to your own mom and telling someone else, you would use μλ§ (informal) to make it sound more natural! Secondly, adding the μ is grammatically correct but if you want it to sound a little more native you can take out the μ :) These are all just suggestions but you did a GREAT JOB and the corrections are just there to make you sound more native~
GREAT JOB :)
03. ν¬λ¦¬μ€λ§μ€μ μ¬λ―Έμμ΄μ
Okay this one is an easy one to correct, and I'm sure a ton of you have found it already!
Original: ν¬λ¦¬μ€λ§μ€μ μ¬λ―Έμμ΄μ
Corrected: ν¬λ¦¬μ€λ§μ€λ μ¬λ―Έμμ΄μ (Christmas is fun)
You guessed it! You have to change the particle because the character before the particle doesn't have a λ°μΉ¨ (the part on the bottom) so it would be λ instead of μ! If you were talking about μ λ¬Ό for example because there is a γΉ at the bottom of the last character you would say μ λ¬Όμ! Hope that makes sense!!!!!
LAST SUGGESTION: while you can obviously say Christmas is fun just as it is, you might want to consider adding something else to the sentence like "party" to make it more specific. For example: ν¬λ¦¬μ€λ§μ€νν°λ μ¬λ―Έμμ΄μ~!
Great job bestie you did so well π
