could it get any better than this?!!?!!?!?
Hello Everyone~! โค๏ธ
Hope you're all doing super well and learning tons and tons of Korean and Japanese~~ ITS ALMOST THE END OF FEBRUARY!!! I hope you're all on track for your new years goals and having fun while acheiving them!
This week, we're going to be learning some Korean from K-pop lyrics again!! You guys had a few requests and I wanted to do a part two so this is perfect!Let's get right into it~~~ & enjooooooyyyyyy!
โค๏ธ From. Sherly
01. BIBI - Bam Yang Gang
I'm so glad someone requested this song because I honestly had no idea what this meant at first (even Koreans are confused) But I have looked into it and I'm excited to teach you some Korean from it!!! โค๏ธ
So this song is talking about Bibi and a conversation with someone else (probably a manz) and he told her... you guessed it: "You want too many things" and she responds "No, I always want just one thing!" This is the meaning for these two lines and the next line after repeats that she just wants "Bam Yang Gang" and after looking at her album explanation and going online I found out that this means LOVE! Not by definition but she uses this phrase as a depiction of love !! When in reality it is a sweet snack! hahah (I guess she means she wants a sweet and soft love like the snack)
02. Hello Future - NCT Dream โญ
greaaaat song choice and I love translating NCT lyrics cuz they're always fun hehe let's learn something from this song!!!
This song is about the start of a relationship and the lyrics are reassuring the other person in the relationship by saying: Don't worry about anything! and the second line says: It will go well! These are both very commonly used phrases so I think it would be great to integrate into your Korean learning! Try using them separately or together~!
03. Korean Slang~!
Since you guys already have so much vocab to learn from BIBI's song (and I know it isn't easy) Let's take it easy with the third one and learn a Korean slang instead!!!
๊ฟ์ผ ๐คฃ
We've talked about this before but we have so many new readers so I thought it would be good to talk about again :)
Let's break it down!
๊ฟ (ggul) means honey in korean ๐ฏ
์ผ (jam) is short for ์ฌ๋ฏธ์๋ค [je-mi-it-da] : (it is) fun or enjoyable
Adding the korean world for honey, infront of the short version of 'fun,' emphasizes the word and makes it extra positive! In this case, it means 'really' fun instead of just fun.
Here is an example sentence: "์ด ๊ฒ์ ๊ฟ์ผ์ด์ผ" which means "this game is super fun" ๐ฎ
Word of the Week โค๏ธ
We're bringing it back!!! I'm going to give you a word every week and you guys have to try to make a sentence with that word!!! ๐ฅ If you don't want yours to be shared let me know:)
Word of the week: ๊ฟ์ผ
