(So for those of us who don't know who the ICONIC Wonyoung is, she is a member of girl group IVE)
Wonyoung recently went viral in Korea and it resulted in a NEW slang being used: ๋ญํค๋นํค
(Lucky Vicky)
Wonyoung -who's English name is Vicky- went viral for spreading her positive outlook on life & describing it as "Lucky Vicky"
In situations where she might usually be sad, Wonyoung says she is actually lucky. For example: If she went to a bakery and the bread she wanted was sold out + she had to wait for 30 minutes to get another one she would say "Wow I'm so lucky, I get a freshly baked one. Thank goodness it was sold out!"
This went viral and now people have been using her outlook and saying "Wow I'm so lucky Vicky" โค๏ธ
(While it's been viral for a while it's still a meme now!!!!)
Translation:
positive outlook: there's half a bottle left!
negative outlook: there's only half left!
wonyoungism: this is exactly what I wanted, a full bottle would have been too much. I was thinking half a bottle would be the perfect amount~ I'm so lucky!!!!

GREAT QUESTION!!! This is honestly a concept I REALLY want to explain to English speakers because it's so important in Korean Culture!
๋์น (noonchi) can be translated to English by saying "tact" - But specifically, In social/public situations that guidelines for how to act are not explicitly said but you just GET IT. That is Noonchi!
For example: If you're with your boyfriend's family (who you're not close to but want to impress) and you tell your boyfriend you're hungry and he immediately goes "(insert your name) is hungry can we eat now" This would be having NO noonchi because he should have just said "Can we go eat now" or "I'm hungry" GET IT???? I hope that makes sense lol
