HAPPY AUGUST:) we're so glad you're here with us and hope you're excited for TEUIDA's weekly update on Korean trends, songs, slang, and more!!!
Let's get right into this week's issue of Teugether! βΊοΈ
What's trending in Korea
this week?! π°π·
I swear you guys keep me young! (Because of this newsletter I try my best to stay updated on the current trends so I can be AS HELPFUL to you all as possible π)
ThIS WEEK I was PLEASANTLY surprised to find out that my favorite youtube channel was actually trending! You might have heard of it before but it's called Channel Fullmoon and it's run by Producer Na (λνΌλ).
This week, they had Korea's sweethearts on the channel -- NEW JEANS! If you know anything about TEUIDA or follow us on IG you know we love them~ hehe β€οΈ
The video is the number 2 most trending video on all of Youtube in Korea + New Jeans are the HOT TOPIC rn because they performed at the Tottenham soccer game this week!
ANYWAYS, the video they made just showed how sweet and humble New Jeans' members are and it makes sense why it's trending so much right now! π
If you're a fan of them, you'd know they aren't all the best at Korean so the level of this video is probably easy to understand for a lot of you! (There are also SUBS so no worries) π
You guys LOVED the travel hack from last week so let's do another one!!
Now listen up, the most important travel hack is.... DON'T PRESS THE BUTTON NEXT TO THE CROSS WALK! π¬
We've talked about this before but since we have so many new readers... I know that some countries have buttons next to crosswalks to indicate that you are waiting so the light changes, BUT!!! In Korea, those buttons are for the visually impaired who need auditory guidance to know when to cross the street.
SO DON'T PRESS IT, or you'll get some really weird looks... π you're welcome
Ask Me Anything! π
THIS is a great question and first of all, I'm sorry that you aren't able to eat some of the things you like π BUT, I'd love to help try to make your life easier when you're living in Korea!
This sentence means "My _____ allergy is very severe. If I eat it I could die, so please be careful" While it might sound quite extreme to write this out and carry it around, I think that it's always better to be safe than sorry and some people might not understand the severity of certain allergies so this is just a precaution!
Secondly, I'd recommend checking out some vegan or gluten friendly restaurants! I know there is one in the Itaewon area called SunnyBread :)But I'm sure there are more online β€οΈ
