Hope you're all having a wonderful wonderful day so far and keeping up with all your language learning (or other) goals!!!
Let's get right into this week's issue of Teugether! โบ๏ธ
What's the news in Korea
this week?! ๐ฐ๐ท
OKAY so I'm trying my best not to make all of the trends related to K-pop but this week there was an incident that went so vIRAL we have to talk abt it..
So we all know Korea's most famous (?) boy group right?! YEs, BTS. Basically, one of the members named Suga (Yoongi) was caught driving an electric scooter while intoxicated and got his license suspended ๐ญ
This was super unsafe + if you drive an electric scooter or kickboard in Korea under the influence of alcohol you WILL get your license suspended & punished so take this as a WARNING for those of you who are visiting here. (Even Suga isn't safe) ๐
There was a meme that came out of this because when the news reported it they said "electric scooter" and apparently foreign fans thought he was riding like a motorcycle or sth?! And the memes that came out of this were legedary ๐คฃ (leave it to gen z to make a meme out of anything)
disclaimer* THIS ISN'T A LAUGHING MATTER + what he did was very ILLEGAL and no one is defending him!!! But just incase y'all thought he was driving a motorcycle:
Korean Slang of the week! ๐
์ผ๋ฐ์ผ (kae-ba-kae)
I'm sure you guys may have heard this one but this is the Korean slang that romanizes "Case-by-case" and turns it into: ์ผ๋ฐ์ผ
(kae-ba-kae)!
It's used in the same way as "case-by-case" but it is basically apart of most people's regular vocabulary!
okay so we ALL know how obsessed Korean people are with MBTI and personality tests in general right?! Well there are always more and more tests coming out these days! Do you guys remember the "Wongyoungism" trend that's going on in Korea (aka. ์์์ ์ฌ๊ณ ) that we talked about a couple of weeks ago?! โค๏ธ
Well we're quick if not anything else SO THERE's a quiz you can take to find out what your type of conflict resolution strategy is!!!!! It is in Korean BUT i tried it with english translation mode on chrome and it wasn't too bad!!! + when you get the result, put the image into PAPAGO to see the translation (for the most accurate one) hehe ๐
(Sorry for the hassle, i wanted to try to make a translated version but I didn't know what all the results were BUT maybe I can make a teuida personality test soon :D)
Of course if you have any questions at all please let me know at the end of the newsletter :)
For those of you who'd rather take tests in English here are some of the other popular tests but English versions!!!
Ask Me Anything! ๐
This is DEFINITELY a personal preference PLUS the different stores aren't THAT different but I will die on the hill that CU is the best convinience store in KOREA!!!!
I think Seven Eleven is nice and GS25 is nice too but for some reason, CU always has the stuff that's trending + I just like the colors best ahhah! But when you're in Korea TRY ALL OF THEM !!!! โค๏ธ
