Can you guys believe that it's already almost MARCH????!! Time is going by so fast this year but I hope you're all keeping up with your language learning goals hehe
Let's get right into this week's issue of Teugether! βΊοΈ
What's trending in Korea this week?! π°π·
I feel like I'm always making you all hungry with the trends but unfortunately SO many of our trends here revolve around food π«
This week (or these days in general) people have been into something called "λκΎΈ" which stands for:
Is it just me or is AESPA POPPING OFFFF these days. I'm super into their music these days and I thought I could teach a good phrase from one of their lyrics!!!!
This phrase means "useless" to be simple but it can also be unprofitable or fruitless. There are other ways to say useless but this one is a little more advanced!!!!
I know that the general idea that Korea is conservative/traditional is well understood which is why you asked this question! While things are getting better these days -- especially in the summer you'll see more people (especially gen z) wearing tanks and short dresses and stuff, there is still a bit of judgment that comes with it!
In my personal experience, it's less so from people my age and more from older people in the trains/buses or on the street. At the most, it's just a weird look though so if you can handle that PLEASE just wear whatever you want!!! (I sure do!!!)
I'm a huge advocate for ignoring the haters + just doing what you want BUT if you want to be more careful, I'd just carry around a cardigan or something to put over your shoulders when you feel judged or over your legs while sitting!
