โค๏ธ Hello Everyone !!!! โค๏ธ
Hope you're allll having an amazing week so far~!
Welcome back to our weekly newsletter <3
Let's get right into this week's issue of Teugether! โบ๏ธ
What's trending in Korea this week?! ๐ฐ๐ท
OKAAAY this one is less of a weekly trend and more of a yearly trend but I was watching it and thought about all of my beloved newsletter readers!! โค๏ธ
Lately, there is this youtuber named ์ฐฐ์ค์ํฐ (Charles Enter) who is this ADORAbLE and hiLARIOUS girl who makes youtube videos!
She has been making videos for a while but early this year, she got really really popular because she did this video series about being ๋ชจํ์๋ก and going on dates. Do you remember what ๋ชจํ์๋ก or ๋ชจ์ is? single since birth yes) BUT ANYWAYS she does this series about being single since birth but going on dates.
I think it's hilarious and most Koreans are in agreement because she got so popular that she literally goes on dates with CELEBRITIES NOW.... (please watch the Ph-1 episode it made me really fall for that man) ๐ค ANYWAYS i thought you guys would like to see it as well and also that it's a great way to learn some simple Korean phrases~ esp ones that you might need~~ โค๏ธ
Korean Slang of the Week ๐ถ
โ๋ T์ผ?"
(neo T ya?)
Ok yes we talk about MBTI all the time I swear it isn't fully irrelevant because people still say this slang phrase quite a lot. Without context you might be like ..? so lemme explain it ๐
๋: you
T: T as in MBTI T
์ผ?: are you (in this context)
This phrase means "Are you T?" but in a pretty attacky/funny tone. It would definitely be used only with close friends...!!!
Being a T means your MBTI result has the letter T in it which means thinking! As opposed to F which is feeling. There is ALOT of slander towards Ts in Korea because they are known to have no empathy (not my words hahha) but basically if someone asks you ๋ T ์ผ? they're basically saying: wow you really aren't empathizing with me rn.. or like are you fr rn? LOL use it carefully tho... only close friends
I personally use this phrase a lot and I swear if you do, you're going to sound 1000x more native !!! โค๏ธ
GREAT question because this can be hard... it's a texting slang but it's also an abbreviation and means NOThing on its own so it's super confusing for Korean learners.
I'm going to plug in one of the lists I made before so you can learn Korean texting slang!
Enjoy and I hope this helps~~
Let's learn some Korean text slangs~
ใ ใ ใ - lolol
ใ ใ ใ - hehehe
