Update: I tried the Dubai Chewy Cookie and it is 100% worth the hype I think about eating it every hour of everyday and it is so good ok bye β€οΈ
THIS WEEK'S TREND is actually something that has been growing slowly and slowly... and it started from a trend on instagram where people would make reels and use the capcut AI voice to use voice overs!
Basically, the AI has been being used so much these days that people have been mimicing the AI voice and using the terms that it uses such as μΌλ₯΄ (which is like slay) and μ€κ° (which is like a soft soft version of a bad word in Korean). I will let you look that up because we are family friendly β€οΈ
This AI voice is trending and more and more people have been using it to the point where almost every video on my feed is using this voice (it's getting a bit annoying) π BUT from a Korean learners perspective I think this is a great trend because the way the AI speaks is casual and it uses a lot of memes/slang so I would suggest watching the videos!
Find an example below!!!!
Korean Slang of the Week πΆ
βμμμ€"
(ah-ja-sseu) π
This is CURRENT news because I just found out about this slang yesterday...
Can you guys guess what this stands for...? when you hear it you're going to kick yourself because it's lowkey obvious BUT
μμμ€ is a shortened form of μ리κ°λ κ³ μμ΄λ§μ€ (arigato gojaimas) which is thank you in Japanese. π€£ Apparently the kids these days are saying "μμμ€" to mean thanks (casually of course)
It kind of doesn't make sense when you put it together but it basically means "how did this rice cake happen?" which is like "this is such an unexpected fortune!" It's not that rice cake itself is lucky or something but it's more like finding a 10$ bill on the floor when you didn't expect it. You didn't expect a rice cake but you got one = lucky strike!
