Korean Vocab of the Week πΆ
βλμ§, μ λ, λν"
In honor of BTS' comeback, let's learn some CRUCIAL fan slang/vocab β€οΈ
Let's break it down:
λν (deok-hu): someone who is obsessed with something/mania about something
λμ§ (deok-jil): to fan girl, act like a maniac because you like something
μ λ (ib-deok): entering a fan club, deciding to become a fan
Examples:
λ BTS μ λνμ΄! (I became a fan of BTS)
μμ λμ§μ€μ΄μΌ. (I'm fangirling so hard)
These are SUPER crucial to know! Just to clarify, they don't only apply to kpop, you can be a λν for pretty much anything like movies or a celebrity! Are you a λν for anything??? π
This is a great question and I just want to clear up that what you see on dramas/tv isn't always very accurate!!! Just like disney channel shows are kind of inaccurate for what kids really do after school, dramas aren't always the best representation.
Realistically, most kids who are in middle/high school will have after school activities which might consist of extra classes or learning a foreign language or preparing for a test! But kids do definitely go to PC rooms or Coin Karaoke sometimes - just not all the time! Also, PC rooms and Karaoke and other activities are relatively cheap in Korea! The PC room I go to is around 2,000won for an hour which is like less than 2 dollars!
