Hope you're all doing great. So sorry for the late newsletter today, I made the mistake of writing it on a word doc which I failed to save so here goes round 2 😭

I got a comment last week regarding the Suga news and I'm so sorry if I had offended anyone with the meme. Of course, I try to write these as neutral and lighthearted as possible just sharing what is trending but with such serious news I should have been more careful.

As for what's trending this week in Korea... it is officially less than 100 days until the yearly Korean college entrance exam! 😋

If you weren't aware Korean students take an exam called the 수능 (soo-neung) to determine where they can go to university! The test is only given once a year so it is a HUGE deal + the whole country supports these students by reducing as much noise as possible!

Since the exam is coming up very soon, these "good luck charms" for students have been trending these days! They are so cute even I want one ❤️🍀

The key chains usually say something like "행운 부적" (heng-un bu-jeok) which means "Luck Amulet or Talisman." It sounds really official and intense but it just means good luck charm hehe ! 🍀 If you have an exam coming up, try getting your hands on one of these~

Korean Slang of the week! 🍎

갓생 (gat-seng)

In honor of talking about students and doing well on exams, let's learn this slang! ❤️

The first part of the slang 갓 (gat) stands for the english word "God" and 생 (seng) is the shortened form of 인생 (inseng) which means life! 😋

Basically, this slang means living like a "God" not literally but in the sense that you're life is impressive and to live a "갓생" means you're working hard and doing everything you should be doing 😎 (an impressive life)

Try using the slang in your own sentence!!

K-drama recommendation of the week! 🎥

YALL you have NO idea how good this drama is. I started it a week ago and I finished all the recent episodes in like 2 days 😮

THIS DRAMA makes me feel SO happy inside & honestly it's a romantic cutesy drama that I don't usually lean towards BUT IT's SO GOOD!!!!

(also the main leads are both so attractive if that means anything to u 😘)

The drama is originally based on a webtoon as well (if you're into that!) Let me know what you all think <3

I think this all depends on where you are staying/trying to go but there is an app that let's you know the best way to travel depending on the start/end points! It'll tell you if bus/subway/taxi is faster and it's called Naver Maps! Kakao Maps also does the same thing but that is just personal preference :)

I personally feel like bus suits me better because I like being able to see outside but subway is faster a lot of the time! And if I'm late I will always take a taxi hahah
