My FAVORITE matcha recipe ๐ + a new advice column?!
here's my advice~
โค๏ธ Hello Everyone !!!! โค๏ธ
Welcome back to our weekly newsletter! This week, we're going to be talking about a trend + learn some Korean from K-pop! Make sure to stay tuned for the advice column + AMA as well <3
Let's get right into this week's issue of Teugether! โบ๏ธ
What's trending in Korea this week?! ๐ฐ๐ท
Would you believe me if I told you that the #1 trend right now is a cute little Hippopotamus?
Well, believe it because this baby hippo from Thailand has stolen the hearts of so many people (even all the way in Korea) โค๏ธ
It's no surprise that cute animals get a lot of attention in Korea, do you guys remember the nations Panda, Fu Bau?!!?! Mu-deng, the baby hippo from Thailand, is basically Fu Bau part 2!
And honestly why wouldn't she be... she's so cute ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ
Let's learn some Korean from this trend! Hippo in Korean is "ํ๋ง ha-ma!" easy enough right?! And Mu-deng is spelt ๋ฌด๋ in Korean ๐
Although I'm not sure how often you guys would need to use hippo in a sentence, it doesn't hurt to know right?!!?!
Korean Lyric of the Week ๐ถ
"๋ด๊ฐ ์์์ค๊ฒ"
YENA (์ต์๋)'s new song NEMONEMO JUST came out (literally today) and it's SO GOOD that it's already climbing up the Melon charts!
This lyric from her song is a very sweet one and I thought it would be fun to learn โค๏ธ
๋ด๊ฐ ์์์ค๊ฒ
(ne-ga an-ah-jul-gae)
๋ด๊ฐ: I
์์ (์๋ค): to hug
์ค๊ฒ: (i will) give
This sentence means, I will give you a hug or I will hug you! It is informal so make sure you don't use in a formal context hahah โค๏ธ
"Iโve heard a couple different answers about who I would call Unnie or Oppa, but I want to know if itโs proper to call someone youโre close with that, or is just family? And if itโs not just family, how close do they have to be?"
๐
Hi friend:)
Great question!!! I do think this is a difficult thing to figure out because it is so cultural!
In most cases using a term like oppa or unnie is sweet and is a term of endearment but some people don't like being called that unless you're close! My personal advice for this is if you're not close enough to ask them if you can call them that, you probably shouldn't!
If you ever come to Korea, some shop owners will call you unnie when they're talking to you but this is a special case (it's more like calling someone ์ด๋ชจ (auntie) in a restaurant) - in most cases, you would only use these terms when you're close to that person OR they tell
I LOVE answering skin care questions because, well, I love skin care (duh) thank you for asking!!!!! Personally, my skin care routine consists of double cleansing, toner, 2 serums, and a lotion! (and also suncream if I'm going out!) ๐โ๏ธ
Of course everyones skin is different so I can't guarentee you that anything I use will 100% work for you BUT there are certain ingredients that are safe to use for any skin type! In my experience these are:
Hylauronic Acid (ํ์๋ฃจ๋ก )
Panthenol (ํํ ๋)
Centella (์ผํ ๋ผ)
But to leave you with a good recommendation I would recomment Axis-Y's Panthenol shield cream! (this isn't sponsored but I wish it was) I really like it and every person that I've recommended it to has said it's worked great for them!
