What's trending in Korea this week?! 🇰🇷

Guys the BIGGEST trend at the moment is definitely the new drama with IU and Park Bogum called "When Life Gives You Tangerines" 🧡

It's been quite a while since there has been a drama that has taken Korea by storm like this (maybe the last one was Lovely Runner) but people are OBSESSED and crying over this drama. It has even been #1 on the trending drama list for TWO WEEKS.

If you haven't had a chance to watch it yet please do! I've only watched the first episode but I'm already super HOOKED 😉

People are even calling it the "국민 드라마" Do you remember when we learned 국룰 which meant national norm or national rule?!!? Well its the same beginning 국민 드라마 means "national drama" because of how popular it is right now hehe ❤️

Korean Lyric of the Week 🇰🇷

⭐ Too Bad - GDragon ft. Anderson Paak ⭐

"긴가민가"

(gin-ga-min-ga)

This lyric is actually a very popular Korean idiom which means to be unsure or hesitant. In context, it's usually an option between two options!

I think the English translation would be "torn" between two options!

Let's try using it in a real-life situation!

Mark: 영화 뭐 볼까? (yeong-hwa meo bol-kka)

"What movie should we watch?"

Sherly: 긴가민가해서 잘 모르겠어.. (gin-ga-min-ga-hae-so jal mo-ru-get-sseo)

"I'm torn so I don't know..."

THERE ARE SO MANYYY let me give you two examples! 😊

When you're at a cafe and ordering something they will ask you "드시고 가세요?"

(deu-shi-go ga-se-yo?) which means "Will you be having this here?"

1. 네 (yes)- which means you would be having the drink at the cafe

2. 아니요, 포장이에요! (no, it's takeout!)

When you're buying something (especially at a convenience store) they will ask you

"봉투 필요하세요?" (bong-tu pi-ryo-ha-sae-yo?) which means "do you need a bag?"

1. 네 (yes)

2. 아니요 (no)
