RUN don't walk to try these K-food trends!! πββοΈπ₯΅
β€οΈ Hello Everyone !!!! β€οΈ
Hope you're all learning tons and tons of Korean and Japanese with Teuida & ready for another weekly newsletter~~ I know I said it was finally warm in Korea but... it literally snowed this past week (what is going on with the weather) & it's cold again...
Let's get right into this week's issue of Teugether! βΊοΈ
P.S. a reminder to ask me questions at the end of this newsletter π₯ I haven't gotten as many responses from y'all recently... are you theree....?!!!
What's the trend in Korea this week?! π°π·
Okay y'all I'm going to have to apologize again because the trend is food.... I know I always make you hungry when I write these but what can i say???? Korea revolves around food...
The newest snacks that are trending are actually ones that are going to be released sometime this weekkkkkk (there is a ton of hype around them) β€οΈ
Baskin Robbins is releasing a GREEN TEA KitKat ice cream cake (matcha lovers unite)
Korea's potato chip company (like a Korean lay's) is releasing a TRUFFLE PEPPER CHIP (I'm super excited for this one)
Buldak is releasing a thai flavored pu pad pong curry flavor (crab curry) - for all the spice lovers :)
Issac Toast (famous Korean toast restaurant) is releasing a collab with POKEMON and you can get cards if you buy toast !!!!
I don't know about you guys but Korean food trends always excite me because they're always so good/creative hehehe if you're visiting or living here - make sure to try them!!!! β€οΈ
Korean Slang of the Week π°π·
"λμ’"
(neu-jot)
This of course is another combination of two words (Koreans love to do this)
Let's break it down:
λ: short for λλ which is "feel" or "vibe"
μ’: short for μ’λ€ or μ’μ which means "good"
Can you guys guess what that means?!!! It means "good vibes" !!!! So a lot of people these days (especially gen z) will call things λμ’
FOR EXAMPLE: they'll label a place they went as λμ’ μΉ΄ν (which is a vibey cafe) !!!
This one is SUPER SUPER easy to use... do you think you can come up with something that would be λμ’? π
This one is obviously a WHOLE grammar lesson which we can do another time (if you guys want!!!) BUTTT let me try to give you an easy example so you can learn with one sentence:
Let's use "This tastes good" as an example
The present tense would be "λ§μμ΄!" (mat-sshi-sseo)
The past tense - we would need to add an "it was" which can be added through "μ" and it would turn into "λ§μμμ΄" (mat-sshi-sseo-eo)
If we were to say this in the future tense we would have to change the sentence by adding "it will" which is μ κ±°μΌ or μ κ±°μμ (formal)
and it would be come λ§μμ κ±°μΌ or λ§μμ κ±°μμ !
Hope that makes sense but let me know if you want more of these ~~ <3
