Hope you're all having an amaaazing week so far and learning lots of Korean with Teuida!!! Can you believe it's almost May???? I feel like time is flying by so fast.
As always, I love hearing from you guys so if you're reading this - tell me your favorite Korean food in the form at the end of this newsletter hehehe
Let's get right into this week's issue of Teugether! βΊοΈ
What's the trend in Korea this week?! π°π·
The most TRENDING thing right now in Korea (from what I've been seeing and hearing about) is definitely the new μ§κ΅¬μ€λ½μ€ season!! (Earth Arcade!) β€οΈ
I really love this show and I think it's an AMAZING way to learn more about Korean culture and even test your knowledge (The producer makes the members do a bunch of quizzes) π
If you like variety I would really recommend you to watch this one hehe β
Korean Slang of the Week π°π·
"λ κ°κ²½"
(na gat-gyeong)
This one is SUPER recent so if you know this native Koreans will be so sosossoso impressed ahha
Let's break it down:
λ: me
κ°: short for κ°μ which means "like"
κ²½: short for κ²½μ°: which means case
Can y'all guess what this one means!?? If you guessed "in my case" then you're right!!! It's the shortened version of the sentence "λ κ°μ κ²½μ°μλ" which means "in my case" or "if this was me"
Here is an example of someone using it in context:
A: I said goodbye to my boyfriend at the airport yesterday. He's moving to Australia..
B: woah λκ°κ²½ μμ² μΈμμ΄ (if it was me I would have cried so much) π₯
Especially because the weather is getting so much better I think a lot more people are searching for the beeaccchhh (I went to Jeju this past weekend cuz I needed a beach getaway)
Let me list the most popular beaches close to Seoul!!
I personally have driven to #1 a bunch of times on a whim and I think it's a great getaway from the city!! Let me know if y'all visit any of these hehe β€οΈ
