What's the news in Korea this week?! ๐ฐ๐ท
YALL it's the most important week for Korean highschool students because..... its ์๋ฅ (su-neung) week! Did you know that all the seniors take a test which determines their college placement (all on the same day?) ๐
Well they do and because it's such a big deal basically all other things stop (they don't even take off flights during that time because of noise) ๐
That's all really intense but what's really FUNNY is that there is an ongoing list of songs you SHOULDN'T listen to during ์๋ฅ season because theyre so catchy and repetitive you won't be able to focus on the test ๐
This year... Apt by Rose and bruno was added (of course) can you imagine having this stuck in your head during such an important test??? (tmi, it was stuck in my head when I took the LSAT...) ๐

OK might be cheating cuz this is english but it's actually just the english letters of the Korean slang JMT stands for ์กด๋งํฑ (jon-mat-teng) and this is a VERYYY casual slang especially cuz ์กด is (kind of) a curse word ๐
Let's break it down!
์กด: short for ์กด๋ which is like "hella" or "freaking" (you know what i mean)
๋ง: means taste
so you can acutally just say ์กด๋ง but we add ํฑ which doesn't mean anything but its just added for emphasis lolol
This meme might hit very close to home and I'm going to talk about it again next week because I want to explain the trend MORE BUT I want you guys to watch it and get familiar with it before I explain.
