Hope you're all having a greatttt week and getting ready for a great thanksgiving (and black friday) you do know TEUIDA is having a sale right...? if you don't have premium already this is ur shot (i promise you won't regret it)
Let's get right into this week's issue of Teugether! โบ๏ธ
PS. I haven't been receiving a lot of questions from yall these days :((( please tell me if you guys want topic changes or something..r u still thereeee....????
What's the trend in Korea this week?! ๐ฐ๐ท
omg... guys this trend is very near and dear to my heart because I have been watching the video in question atleast 10 times a day...
do you know what I'm talking abt..?
yes, its hwasa's perfromance at the Blue Dragon Film Award... TELL ME YOU'VE SEEN THE VIDEO PLEASE ๐
if not literally stop reading this and go watch it rn. this video is going viral (and the song too) because of Park Jeongmin (the male actor) and hwasa's interaction โค๏ธ the video first went viral because of the BUTTERFLIES it gives to those watching + also the actors in the audience's reactions (watch the video I linked)
but of course... the video ended up actually turning into a meme because Korean men started seeing that girls were obsessed w him so they started making videos COPYING HIM......... its so triggering tbh..................... (also linked below...)
We're also going to learn a slang related to this so stay tuned ๐
This slang is lowkey so funny and I love using it. It's also what is being used to describe park jeong min in that video above!
Let's break it down:
์ : this is the hanja for to have / to possess
์ฃ: crime, offense
๋๋น: gaze (look in one's eyes)
Can you kind of guess what it means?? it literally means a criminal gaze but actually it's like "a gaze so attractive/captivating it should be illegal" LOL โค๏ธ
& that is exactly what his gaze looks like BYE I LOVE THAT MAN ๐ฏ
Hi FRiend!! great question... I had to look this up too cuz I'm not actually too sure but my immediate response & the best way I can describe is you don't actually call ur partner "baby" as in a literal baby right??? but its still an affectionate term! same thing!!! โค๏ธ
From what I learned, it started off as a familial thing and an age based descriptor (something you call an older male person) BUT because traditionally older brothers are often seen as protective, caring, strong, or someone who you can rely on -- if you date a man older than you it kind of fits the same social role....? (hate to prescribe to gender roles just trying to explain the origins)
That's how it changed as a term but in general, it just is a type of nickname you call your partner just like nuna is older sister but also a nickname! Or baby is a BABY but still a nickname! Hope that makes sense~~~
